Carnaval del Buen Pastor, tells the story of Silvia, a woman who has lived and enjoyed Carnival in all its splendour for 15 years, playing the role of La Diabla and continues to do so even though she is behind bars.

FICNOVA recognises in the film the effort to show the overcoming of barriers that can be made even in a prison, questioning the very idea of justice at the present time, which basically focuses on inflicting on the prisoner an exemplary punishment, “proportional” to the damage caused, instead of favouring reparation and construction in a new direction that makes reconciliation possible for the person.
