To date, the group of volunteers organizing the festival has made an enormous effort—one that was necessary to screen and evaluate the 2,565 films submitted from 95 countries, selecting those that presented significant examples of the power of nonviolence. As a result, we have admitted 818 works from 95 countries to the competition as part of the Official Selection.

Among them, we have recognized 34 films as FINALISTS, which, in addition to denouncing various forms of violence and discrimination, each offer different solutions or ways to overcome or positively transform these situations, opening the future toward a nonviolent path—a growing movement that is transforming us and the world.

On October 2, the International Day of Nonviolence as declared by the United Nations, we will announce the award-winning films.

Starting on that date, at various events scheduled in each of the FICNOVA host cities, we will screen the finalist and award-winning films free of charge, with the prior consent of the filmmakers.

We would like to announce that, although we will initially focus on screening the award-winning and finalist films, we hope to reach agreements with all the filmmakers in the “Official Competition Selection” who are willing to do so, so that their works can be made available on the FICNOVA website or screened free of charge at events promoting nonviolence organized by FICNOVA.

We are publishing the calendar of scheduled activities to invite everyone interested to participate in the events.

Thank you very much to everyone, and congratulations to those selected.
